Wow Guide Portugal will pick you up from your accommodation in any part of the Algarve. Lagos in the western Algarve is waiting for us! Depending on the weather and season, we start with either a boat trip or a hike.
Ponta de Piedade is a landscape in constant transformation. The fragile sand cliffs, with fossils from millions of years ago, create islands that, once upon a time, were part of the solid land. Piece by piece has been falling apart due to wind and waves.
Rui, the skipper of our boat tour, is a Portuguese man who grew up in Lagos. He knows everything about every beach and cave! He will take us to this magical part of the coastline and let us see nature’s wonders up close—around 1 hour.
Ponta de Piedade is a large area with comfortable boardwalks and platforms. But many of the very best views need to be seen from other angles, and this is where the benefits of a local guide come in! I know exactly where you should stand to get the best pictures and also where you absolutely should not go because of the risk of landslides.
The hike is mostly flat, and you can choose if you want to take the stairs down to the beaches. Down is easy, but you also need to go back up, ha ha!
We will spend around 3 hours here, including the lunch picnic.
During the day, you will be served our bespoke luxury picnic lunch with sandwiches, local pastries and delicacies, wine, coffee, fruit, and much more.
When both the boat trip and the hike are finished, you will be driven back to your accommodation. If you want to spend some time in Lagos’ old town before going back, that can be arranged.
Duration: Around 6-8 hours, depending on pick-up point.
